Video Transcript: 303 WhatsApp - Windows Phone 7 App Review

WhatsApp – like BBM, and the forthcoming iMessage, and Samsung ChatON, but without any of those pesky hardware ties. In fact, it offers free messaging across almost all platforms, including now, the Windows Phone 7. If you have ever used WhatsApp on any other platform, you’ll find a similar experience on this one. Favourites is where you’ll find the contacts on your phone that already have WhatsApp, and All is every contact on your phone. Chats is all your previous message conversations, threaded. You can’t, unlike other versions, start group chats, although you can join them if they’re created by someone else. Push notifications come through on the Live Tile if you’re out of the app and get a message. It’s only available on phones running the Mango software update, but once you’ve got that, it’s free for the first year, but $1.99 after that. Well done WhatsApp.
