Not content with bringing magazine swishyness to your iPad, Wired is now looking to take over your phone too with its Wired News app. Available for iPhone and BlackBerry, it’ll bring you news, reviews and the latest Twitter updates from wired.co.uk, with podcasts promised in a future update. BlackBerry users get the latest headlines pushed to their handsets, although you still need internet coverage to read full stories – if you’re offline you’ll only see the first few lines as there’s no automatic caching. The reviews also don’t appear to have been updated in three weeks, leaving that section looking a little unloved. It lacks the visual whizzbang of the full iPad magazine, but it’s also free and mostly fulfils its remit of bring a little bit of Wired to your handset.
