Dolphin Browser has been available on Android for a while and is now looking to super charge your iPhone web surfing with a host of extra features you won’t find in Safari. First up, you’ve got gestures. Rather than fill the screen with buttons and widgets, just draw an F to go to Facebook or T to jump to Twitter and you can even create your own for anything you like. You can also use gestures to control the app, like jumping to the top or bottom of a page. The main downside is you have to press the gesture button first, so it’s still a two step process. There’s also a webzine view which gives you an uncluttered view on web feeds and your Twitter and Facebook accounts. You can see previews and thumbnails of articles and easily link to the full text. Finally there’s a desktop mode, that will stop sites redirecting you to their cut down mobile versions if you want to browse the full fat site. And the best bit is it won’t cost you a penny.

It's a new dawn, and this dawn heralds a time where we no longer assume Apple is best. There's no doubt that the Dolphin Browser is better than the iPhone's Safari offering, and comes with some handy touchscreen gestures to boot.
